Democratic candidates distancing themselves from Pres. Obama

Following the President’s speech on dealing with the terrorist group Islamic State, commonly referred to as ISIS, Democrats in tight Senate races, and even potential 2016 presidential hopefuls are putting some space between them and the Commander-in-Chief.

Alaska Sen. Mark Begich said he opposes arming Syrian rebels. “We must have greater assurance that we aren’t arming extremists who will eventually use the weapons against us,” he said.

I can’t say that I am at all surprised by this move.  President Obama came into office with the promise of pulling American troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Now, he’s setting himself up for a potential open-ended conflict.

While yes, ISIS is a terrorist group that has killed innocent people, and they need to be dealt with.  The American people are not prepared by my estimations for another war in the Middle East.

Mr. President, if you’re going in, make sure you have a strategy to get out.
