UK apologizes for tweet commemorating White House being burned

Okay, I know I shouldn’t be laughing, but I am…a lot!

It appears that the British Ambassador to the United States sent out a tweet commemorating the 200th anniversary of the White House being set on fire by the British during the War of 1812.

Read the tweet here.

I know that was a sad day for the States, but lets just face it…it’s freaking funny!

I agree. If our friendship can’t weather these quips and take them as individual tongue-in-cheek commentaries, then maybe we need to re-evaluate what’s truly important. Speaking of the weather…. a very patriotic good ole Yankee tornado took vengeance on those invaders and sent them scurrying away. May God save American barometric pressure!
